"Dia de Muertos and the lyrics can interpreted in a very literal way, but also serve as a personal remedy for myself and dealing with a lot of people today in modern society. A lot of what validates us in today's worlds stems from social media followers/likes and this veiled perception of what an amazing life we're all having, when the true validation should stem from human experiences and lasting relationships with people around us. I have been trying to exercise situational awareness in my life more and being more present in the things I'm doing now, and I feel that Dia de Muertos is a reminder that no matter how people perceive you, learning to let go of insecurities and negative influences is up to you."
